I take small groups trail running on the off road tracks through the woods, fields and marshes of north Essex.

    I also incorporate full body workouts as part of the trail running class.


    The emphasis is on enjoying the process of getting fit, as much as the result. It's all about getting out in the fresh air, enjoying the surroundings whilst having a exhilarating workout.


    It's about as far away from a gym as it's possible to be. A typical session would would include a three mile off road jog/run, complete body work out and post run stretching.


    These are just examples of what you can expect, the classes and routes vary each week.


    Please bare in mind that we are exercising outdoors, you may get muddy and wet on one session and hot and sun tanned on another, so come prepared. But whatever the weather, you'll have fun and get fit.

    My name is Gale Light, I've been walking, running and cycling the trails of north Essex since I was a kid. Over the years I've walked, ran and cycled dozens of different routes around the woods, marshes, beaches of the Tendring area.

    I now take classes on many of these trails, so that other people can enjoy parts of the countryside that they otherwise wouldn't see.

    My qualifications include Fell/Trail Leadership in Running Fitness (FLiRF), YMCA L3 Outdoor Fitness and YMCA L2 Fitness Instructor.
